What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a Government backed scheme that aims to protect any size organisation against a whole range of the most common cyber attacks in use today
What are The Benefits of Cyber Essentials?
- Protect your organisation against common cyber security attacks
- Reassurance for customers that you are committed to constant review and securing of your IT operations
- Attract new business and generate new revenue opportunities
- Gain a clear understanding of your organisation’s cyber security level
- Peace of mind knowing that your organisation is protected against the vast majority of cyber attacks
- Certain Government / public sector contracts require Cyber Essentials certification
How to become certified?
The Requirements for obtaining Cyber Essentials accreditation are broad and often overwhelming.
We aim to help you to gain compliance in the 5 key areas of Cyber Essentials accreditation.
- Area 1 – Firewall Configuration – Secure endpoint firewalls and consult with hardware firewall owners to meet Cyber Essentials requirements
- Area 2 – Secure Configuration – Reduce vulnerabilities and expose only the services required to fulfill the business needs
- Area 3 – Security Update Management – Gaining patch compliance demonstrating on-going patch compliance month-on-month
- Area 4 – User Access Control – Ensure users are provided with only the level of access they require to carry out their role
- Area 5 – Malware Protection – Prevention of malware delivery, prevention of malware execution and ensuring signatures are updated frequently without intervention.
All applied in a zero trust manner to the high standards required to become Cyber Essentials certified.
